To Help With The Cravings

June 28th, 2011

I hope your day has been smooth going and delightful:).

Today’s newsletter is just a suggestion to help with those sugar cravings.  We all have them! Cravings that is.  Whether it be sugar, chocolate, big Macs, or even a giant pizza to indulge just by ourselves.  Although our cravings are all different, sometimes the only thing to cure those cravings is something else to replace them.

I’m type 1 Diabetic, and have to limit my sugar intake tremendously.  You think a disease would make it easier to resist but there’s nothing farther from the truth. When I indulge in sugar I’m not just gaining weight, but my body becomes in jeoperdy when I eat too much. Everyone’s body does the same thing. So lowering your sugar intake is a healthy choice for everyone.

Something that has helped me get through those cravings, is at the start of the week I’ll make a healthy, all natural fruit smoothie.  I poor that smoothie in either some Popsicle holders or plain cups with a spoon and WAH-LA!-whenever I have a craving I whip out one of those and lick it for the next 20 minutes.  It has saved me every time without fail.  It’s healthy and satisfies the sweetness that you’re wanting.  And we can’t forget delicious!

So my advice is to go out and buy a bag of frozen fruit and get those snacks ready for when you need something sweet asap!

Fruit Smoothie
1 cup of Blueberries
1/2 cup of Raspberries
One Banana
1/2-1 cup of water
1 1/2 cup of Spinach (optional-but extremely healthy for you)

Mix it all in the blender and it should fill about 3 cups of Smoothie for ya:). ENJOY!
